Choose to Live Your Values: Product Recommendations

Amidst the constant newstream that highlights scarcity, lack and fear, it can be challenging to choose products that represent your true values—freedom, opportunity, joy, abundance to name a few. When purchasing products and services, we often—myself included—click for convenience rather than values alignment.

But here are some creators and their products that I love—because they give me small ways to invest my money in people and solutions I care about. And, these also are reminders to me…to help me keep my attention on the values I hold dear. Thought you might enjoy, too!

This is a very very short list. I invite you to please share in the comments below the products and services you like that keep you invested in and connected to your life of joyful abundance.

Abundance Jewelry

by Akakpo Design Group LLC.

Ebenezer Akakpo is a local artist here in Portland, ME. His work uses symbols from his home country of Ghana to create beautiful designs that are reminders of core values that will resonate with you including: friendship, endurance, unity, patience and abundance. Find earrings, bracelets and drinkware that keep you in the abundance zone.

Joyful Clothing

by The Kit

This bold, sustainable made-on-demand brand calls out: You have enough basics. Time to bring the joy through clothes that align with your values of sustainability and equitable work practices.

Social Justice Smartphone

by Credo Mobile

This cellphone company donates monthly to nonprofit organizations committed to social change. I’ve use this company for years and love them. I think they use the same network as Verizon, they just run their business differently where over they’ve donated over $94 million since their company’s founding.

Pro-Aging Makeup

by BOOM! by Cindy Joseph

What a gift to find makeup that embraces and highlights the beauty of wisdom. When I decided to stop coloring my hair and enjoy my genuine and honest look, I was thrilled to find a company to support that journey. I’m a longtime fan of the Boomstick Trio.

Centering Ring

by Siddha Yoga Bookstore

I’ve worn this same ring since 1996. Called a japa ring, I use it as a fidget especially during anxious times. As I touch each small bump, I breathe and repeat a phrase or mantra. It’s a simple reminder to stop and take a moment to center myself.

Make a Difference Socks

by Bombas

Since you’re buying socks and underwear anyway, why not invest in a company that supports others? I bought a set of Bombas socks last year and am happy to say they are still in great shape. Cozy, comfortable and they don’t slip down. They have a similar model to TOMS shoes which you’re probably aware of—and they donate an essential clothing item for each item purchased.

Changemaker Gear

by Development Without Limits

Soft, organic, warm sweatshirt or hoodie with the definition of you printed right on it. Changemaker: one who leads, inspires and catalyzes change; me; you; us. This is available in DWL’s swag shop with some other inspirational reminders of how amazing you are. ❤️
