For over 11 years her work has included providing professional development and coaching to practitioners, working directly with youth, advocating for and helping create policy and system changes, and identifying and highlighting promising practices for youth of color, immigrants and English Learners.

As a field researcher, she has lent her expertise to a number of national research projects on topics such as equity and diversity in after school and preparing staff to work with immigrant youth.

Jimena is currently a Co-chair of the English Learner Committee for the California Afterschool Network and serves on the Bridge Conference National Advisory Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is also a certified Hypnotherapist and Holistic Healing practitioner.

She led individuals and teams through the process of creating their curriculum and developing strategies to support all learners.

She also had the opportunity to support aspiring principals in how to develop a strong and structured instructional community. In all of her work, she has seen individuals grow to have improved outcomes in student achievements as well as on how they organize their individual schools. Currently, as an educational consultant, Mary is able to combine her experiences in the non-profit world and the public education setting to holistically support the success of youth and the professionals who work with them.

Club, an after school program that employed artists to work along side school teachers to create anart-based curriculum for elementary students. In 2003, Stephen was selected to be the first art therapy intern to work along side Dr. Janos Marton at the Living Museum, a 40,000 square foot open studio for patients of Creedmoor Psychiatric Hospital in Queens. There he had the opportunity to nurture and support the art process of over 100 patient artists that visit the Living Museum on a daily basis. In 2004 Stephen began working as an art therapist at Interfaith Medical Center in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn and continues to work there on the acute psychiatric unit. Stephen graduated from Arizona State University with his BFA in painting and has an MA from Long Island University C.W. Post in Clinical Art Therapy.

In this role she designed and oversaw professional development strategies for PYN staff and its provider network, including the development of curriculum and other resource materials to assist community-based organizations with youth workforce preparation . One such resource includes the launch of a website geared for youth workforce development professionals: WorkReadyClassroom.org. Rebecca was a key team member of the development of the Mayor's Office of Education's Graduation Coach Campaign and she provided support to the William Penn Funded Youth Development Initiative.

Previously, Rebecca served as Executive Director of Woodrock, Inc., located in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to that position, for seven years she was the founding director of Opening Doors and Building Bridges after school program at the Martin Luther King Educational Campus in New York City. A long time champion of the program, New York City Council Member Gale Brewer honored Rebecca in July 2006 with a New York City Council Proclamation of Exemplary Public Service to Youth in the Community. In 2003, Rebecca was selected as a Robert Bowne Foundation Fellow and participated in a yearlong fellowship to conduct research about after school programs. She documented her findings in a paper called: Developing Social Capital in Youth Programs. Rebecca is a former high school teacher, and prior to teaching, she held the position of Senior Staff Trainer of the Adolescent Education Program/Teens Helping Each Other, part of the SUNY Research Foundation. Rebecca is also an adjunct professor at The Community College of Philadelphia and teaches a course called Foundations of Youth Work. Rebecca has a BA from the University of Hartford and completed her Masters in Secondary Education at Brooklyn College.

Sam specializes in community-based youth work, youth leadership and global issues. Sam has worked on a range of DWL initiatives including Real Stories, Summer Youth Employment Trainings, TASC City Scholars and many more. Sam is also a lead writer of curricula, including Connecting for Success and Real Jobs. He was formerly the project director of the Human Rights Activist Project with Global Kids, Inc., a project dedicated to empowering urban youth to become leaders in the realm of human rights and international affairs. He received his B.S. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and an M.S. in Social Work, with a focus in International Social Policy, from Columbia University. Prior to working at Global Kids, Sam worked as an Immigrant Rights Organizer with the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund. While at Columbia University, Sam was a graduate policy analyst at the Youth Unit of the United Nations Division for Social Policy and Development. His previous work with youth includes working with South Asian Youth Action (SAYA!) as a program coordinator.

A recognized summer learning expert, Jennifer speaks regularly to out-of-school-time professionals, and is a principal author of Making the Most of Summer: A Handbook on Effective Summer Programming & Thematic Learning.

Over the past several years, Jennifer has consulted with summer programs in rural and urban communities to facilitate program design, strategic planning, and staff training. She designed and instructed an online graduate certificate program in out-of-school time leadership through Johns Hopkins University. Prior to that, she taught elementary school in Baton Rouge, LA, where she also led an enrichment-based summer program for third graders. She earned a master's degree in public policy from Johns Hopkins University, and a bachelor's degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, with a self-designed major in creativity. Jennifer lives in Portland, Maine, with her husband and son.

Aaron's work enhancing learning and development through innovative technology began when coordinating University of Maryland System's tele-classrooms. He went on to edit and manage VideoShare, an internationally distributed catalog of health communication media, at Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs. He received his B.S. in Mass Communication from Towson University, an M.A. in Writing from Johns Hopkins University, and a graduate certificate in Distance Education, Globalization, and Development from University of Maryland University College.

She is also the author of Integrating Teens into Your Museum Family, a publication for children's museum educators.
