Health and Fitness: Healthy Children, Healthy Futures

HCHF Logo

Healthy Children, Healthy Futures (HCHF) uses media literacy and production to help kids learn (and teach others) positive messages about healthy eating and physical activity. Elementary and middle school kids create their own media campaigns based on the Eight Habits of Healthy Kids.

HCHF was developed by Strang Cancer Prevention Center and is run by Healthy Directions, Inc. Development Without Limits helped to create the curriculum and provides professional development and technical assistance to organizations who want to infuse their afterschool program with healthy messages, while providing their kids with the skills and aptitudes they need to become savvy media consumers and producers.

HCHF also offers an optional parent engagement program, which gives programs a range of resources for engaging and educating parents, to help them to become advocates for healthy eating and physical activity in their community.
